We are delighted to announce the appointment of famed international ice skater and star of TV’s Dancing on Ice, Jayne Torvill OBE, as patron of the East Sussex Foster Care Association 

Chair, Fred Livings said; “We are absolutely thrilled to have Jayne’s support. This appointment has come at an important stage in the charity’s development as we need to raise our profile, the public’s awareness of fostering and a much needed boost to our funds. Jayne has indicated her readiness to become an active patron and we are really looking forward to her attending some of the activities we have planned. By working together with Jayne we will make a big difference to the lives of fostered children.”
Commenting on her appointment as patron Jayne said: “I feel passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children. The chance to work with a local charity that offers opportunities to move children forward in their lives is incredibly important. I am looking forward to contributing to their experiences and helping to create special memories.”
Jayne Torville: Biography
Born on 7th of October, 1957 in Nottingham, UK. She is a British Ice Dancer who has proved to be one of the most talented and popular skaters to have ever come out of Britain. Jayne first started dancing with her partner Christopher Dean in 1975 and together went on to win various competitions culminating in winning gold medal in ice dancing at the winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 with their representation of ‘Bolero’. In 2000 Jayne was made an Officer of Order of the British Empire OBE. She currently resides in Sussex with her husband and two children and keeps herself busy filming for “Dancing on Ice” and fulfilling her commitments as Patron and Vice President of several charities.
